LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — Police say that a girl was seriously wounded in an accidental shooting at a Lee’s Summit home on Friday evening.

According to police, two teens were playing with a gun at a residence in the 500 block of Castle Drive in Lee’s Summit around 5:30 p.m. when it went off, striking the girl.

The girl was taken to an area hospital with what are described as serious injuries. Police are investigating the incident.
