KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Over the weekend the principal and superintendent of St. Thomas More Parish made plans for counselors from other Catholic schools to help students cope with the loss of 10-year-old Luke Bresette, who was killed in a freak accident at an Alabama airport.

No services have been planned just yet. The family said Luke’s mother was also injured in the accident and had to undergo surgery.

Counselors at the school will be available for students to talk freely. They will also make sympathy and get-well cards to send to the Bresette family. In addition, counselors will work on a way the community can honor Luke at some point in the future.
