KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Friends are mourning the death of a man who drowned late Friday night at Longview Lake. Brett K. Baslee, 26, was identified as the victim according to a report released by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Kansas City, Mo. police tell us a group was at Longview Lake Friday night when one person went in and did not re-surface. A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper heard the call in regards to the possible drowning. He and another corporal utilized a Kansas City Fire Department boat with the assistance of a Jackson County park ranger.
It happened just before midnight. Baslee’s body was recovered south of a boat ramp at the lake early on Saturday morning. KCPD is currently handling the investigation.
