After three years in the shadows, the human mother of Boo, “the world’s cutest dog” has been revealed.

According to AllThingsD, Boo’s mom is Irene Ahn and holds a leading position at Facebook. Prior to joining the social network in December 2008, Ahn reportedly worked for Yahoo and PayPal. AllThingsD credits anonymous tipsters with identifying her.

If you haven’t yet been introduced to Boo, you’re either not on Facebook or you live under a rock. Boo is hugely popular on the Internet, but it took some time. Ahn launched a Facebook page for the Pomeranian pup in 2009, but his popularity didn’t gain momentum until celebrities caught wind of his adorableness — celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Ke$ha. With their help (and perhaps Facebook’s?) Boo’s “fans” have climbed to nearly five million.

From the beginning, Ahn has never taken the focus off Boo, always choosing to keep him in the spotlight and herself in the shadows. When he appeared on Good Morning America in 2011, Ahn remained off camera. She even used a pseudonym when publishing a book on Boo. And now that she’s been identified? Good luck trying to get her to talk. According to AllThingsD, she’s not returning requests for interviews and she’s definitely not confirming she’s Boo’s mother.

But that’s okay. As long as she keeps posting pictures of her little boy Boo, the world wide web will not revolt.
