KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities have identified the victim who died in a single-car accident on the city’s West Side on Monday evening.

According to police, Teresa Ruiz, 67, was killed when she apparently lost control of her vehicle and struck a tree near West Pennway and South Summit streets around 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Authorities say that they are investigating the possibility that a medical condition contributed to the accident. There were no other injuries in the accident.
