LIBERTY, Mo. — Fire investigators released their findings into the fire that destroyed the Liberty Hills Country Club last Friday. The cause is undetermined and the investigation is still on-going.

During the three days state investigators sifted through the debris the site remained a crime scene. Wednesday’s announcement from The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms And Explosives stresses just because a cause is still undetermined that doesn’t mean the investigation is closed.

The ATF and the Missouri State Fire Marshal say the fire started in the basement near the Pro Shop. The extensive damage kept investigators from finding what sparked the fire, so the cause remains undetermined. But, that “does not mean that a fire investigation is closed.”

The general manager tells me the club will be rebuilt at the same location. The club will reopen the golf course to members starting on Tuesday.

The fire caused $3.5 million dollars worth of damage.
