OLATHE, Kan. – Christoph Kinzel, a junior at Olathe North High School, has achieved a perfect 36 ACT score. Nationally, while the actual number of students earning a composite score of 36 varies from year to year, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of students taking the ACT earn a top score.
Kinzel, who took the test twice to get the perfect score, is in the 21st Century Distinguished Scholars program at Olathe North, with a focus on science. He is involved in Science Olympiad and participates in tennis. His parents are Christopher and Carolyn Kinzel.
Among test takers in the high school graduating class of 2012, only 781 of more than 1.66 million students earned a composite score of 36.
“Achieving a perfect score of 36 on the ACT is a rare event, it is a testament to Christoph’s hard work both inside and outside of the classroom,” Olathe North High School Principal David Morford said. “Olathe North is very proud of his achievement and representation of the high quality academic standards he has met as a student at North.”
