KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s possible for a bride and groom to get overwhelmed as their special day draws near, especially after months of planning.

Kindra Browne, wedding planner, recommends that couples do what they can to stay relaxed during the wedding weekend.

Browne said to be realistic about how many guests can, and should, stay with the family or stay in a hotel.

“I’ve had clients say, ‘I want people staying at my house,’ they love the energy, they love that,” she said. “But other people really need that oasis for peace, to get away.”

She also suggested that not everyone should have a role in the wedding. Unsolicited advice-givers will try to offer their opinion on everything, she said, and brides and grooms should do their best to be polite and listen.
