(CNN) — If a bunch of governors got together and wrote a book on things to avoid when you’re a state executive, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley might have an entertaining and lighthearted chapter to contribute.

“What not to do … getting locked out of the Governor’s mansion in your robe while sending the kids off to school. sigh…#adayinthelife,” Haley wrote on her public Facebook page Wednesday morning.

The post quickly generated buzz on Facebook, collecting more than 4,400 likes and close to 550 comments as of Wednesday night.

But the governor wasn’t forced out of her house for too long. Her communications director, Doug Mayer, told CNN she was only outside for a “couple minutes” before her daughter, Rena, let her back in.

Haley is known in South Carolina for her regular and sometimes personal Facebook posts, which her office says she does herself. The subjects of her posts alternate between her daily duties as governor and her life as a mom.

But with the Republican running for re-election in 2014, her political opponents wasted no time pouncing on her morning blunder.

“File this under Fake Transparency, because it certainly is telling about Nikki Haley’s priorities when it comes to sharing information with the people of South Carolina,” the South Carolina Democratic Party said in an e-mail release.
