Kansas City Power & Light is sending around 50 crew members to the Boston, Massachusetts, area to help restore power to homes and businesses to the over three million customers left without electricty following last weekend’s massive snowstorm.

The crews, including 36 linemen, will help repair damaged poles and downed lines across the Northeast.

Over the weekend, up to two feet of heavy, wet snow fell across parts of the Northeast from Maryland to Maine, with the highest storm totals in the mountains of western Massachusetts.

The crews, comprised of personnel throughout the KCP&L service territory, are prepared to stay for up to two weeks assisting with restoration efforts.
