OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — An Overland Park server is taking the higher road after customers ridiculed him for being gay.

According to the server, a couple left him a note at Carabba’s restaurant in Overland Park where he works. In the note the couple said even though he provided good service, they refused to leave him a tip because he’s gay. The couple went on to say tipping homosexuals was against their religious beliefs.

“Thank you for your service, it was excellent. That being said, we cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to GOD. Queers do not share in the wealth of GOD, and you will not share in ours. We hope you will see the tip your fag choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD’S love, but none shall be spared for fags. May GOD have mercy on you.”

The server didn’t want to talk to reporters on camera, saying that he wants his job performance to speak for itself.

Carabba’s sent a statement Thursday night saying, “We do not tolerate discrimination — from either our employees or our guests. We embrace diversity and believe in treating everyone with respect.”
