COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Board of Curators at University of Missouri began meeting at 1:00 p.m. Monday, in what many believe is the first move in approving the contract of a new basketball coach.

FOX 4 is in Columbia, following developments and an announcement that names the new coach.

All the curators are on speaker phone. Tim Wolfe, President of the University of Missouri system, attended the meeting in person in Columbia.

Last week, Kim Anderson, basketball coach for the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo., was the only publicly-known candidate for the job of Tigers’ coach.

“The Board of Curators will hold an executive session meeting April 28, 2014, pursuant to Section 610.021(1), RSMo, 610.021(3), 610.021(12), RSMo and 610.021(13), RSMo for consideration of certain confidential or privileged communications with university counsel, negotiated contracts and personnel matters all as authorized by law and upon approval by resolution of the Board of Curators,”  said a public notice from the curators.
