AGUAS CLARAS, Brazil — Waving with all 12 fingers, the Silva family cheers for Brazil, hoping they’ll win a sixth World Cup championship.

Six seems to be a trending number in the family. For four generations, members of the Silva family have been born with six digits on each hand, the result of a condition known as polydactyly, according to the Associated Press.

six fingersRather than feel embarrassed about the extra digits, the Silvas have embraced them, welcoming the attention from the Brazilian media during the World Cup, especially during a time when Brazilians are crossing their fingers hoping for a sixth championship title.
