TEXAS — There`s a new pool safety device straight out of Texas. The creators of I-Swim Band demonstrated the new product.

It has sensors that start ringing a phone or tablet device when a child has been underwater for too long. The alarm will also sound if a parent moves more than 100 feet away. It can be worn as a headband or wristband.

“Last summer in the state of Texas 80 children drowned and the CDC statistics indicate that 80 percent of those were supervised,” said one of the band’s creators.
