KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals announced Thursday that they have returned right-handed pitcher Yordano Ventura from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the disabled list. He will start Thursday afternoon’s 1:10 game against the Tampa Bay Rays. In a corresponding roster move, the club optioned right-handed pitcher Aaron Brooks to Triple-A after last night’s game. The club also recalled left-handed pitcher Brandon Finnegan from Omaha and placed outfielder Alex Gordon on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left groin muscle.
