Mary Pulley’s weekly pregnancy blog:

I’m taking a big deep breath after last week’s blog “Baby Shower Drama”. Oh boy did that post bring out a lot of emotions. And in a way I’m glad it did. Sometimes feelings can be a little uncomfortable to reveal. But unless you do, you can’t have healthy relationships!

With that being said, it’s now time for me to figure out what on earth to register for. I’ve been told to ask for lots of diapers, bibs, bottles, and onesies! Beyond that, I’m pretty much in the dark. I’ve spent some free time browsing the baby aisles of Wal-Mart and Target, and looking online at places like “Buy Buy Baby” and “Babies “R” Us”. So many cool things, but what do I really need?

I’ve gone online and found extensive baby registry checklists that tell you to request everything from stretch mark cream to beer! (Apparently it’s supposed to help you produce more milk… lol) I’ve also heard from experienced moms about having closets full of stuff they never used. I confess to you that I hate clutter! It may sound silly, but I’d rather give something away, and buy it again later if I need it, than to try to find somewhere to store it. So I really want to make sure I only register for the things that we’ll use and use a lot!

So before I hit the stores and go all baby crazy, what should I keep in mind? Parents out there, what did you find useful? What’s still sitting in your closet? Let me know here or on my facebook page. I can’t wait to hear from you!
