PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. — Five Belinder Elementary students recently teamed up to raise money for Wayside Waifs.

In Sepembter Addison Jones, Milly Bertch, Devon Van Hoesen, Audrey Youngers and Mack Renko started planning in Mr. Enslow’s fourth-grade class. Once their plans were finalized, they needed permission from the principal.

In October they placed five buckets throughout the school. Each kid stood by the bucket nearly every day before school and encouraged students to donate.

There were contests between the grades. Winners got to wear crazy hats and enjoy free seating at lunch time.

Overall, the students were able to raise $351. The official check presentation will be soon and Wayside Waifs has promised the students a private tour.
