Celebrating Cinco de Mayo? Don’t buy your liquor until you check out these great ideas from Mary Rodriquez, Diamond Girls Bartenders, for delicious cocktails your guests will love.

Recipes:
Corona Margarita – In a pitcher add ice, then add (12-ounce) can of frozen limeade concentrate, fill the same can with tequila, add one (12-ounce) can of sprite and one (12 ounce bottle of Corona beer). This makes one pitcher. Pour into a salted rim margarita glass over ice – garnish with lime slice
Chelada – In this recipe you make the chelada mixture in advance which is:

  • 6 oz clamato juice
  • 2 dash worcestershire
  • 2 dash tabasco (or to taste)
  • juice of 1/2 lime
  • pinch of coarse salt and pepper

Chill in pitcher overnight. When ready to serve rim a glass with chile-salt (2 parts salt to 1 part chili powder). Add ice, fill 1/2 with chelada mix. Top with Tecate light beer. I like to garnish with a sword of pepperocini peppers.

Sangria – Definitely make this the day before to allow the flavors to meld. In a pitcher add ice and seasonal fruits (I like orange slices, pineapple and melon). Add 1 cup of simple syrup, 1 cup of brandy, 1 cup of orange juice and 1 bottle of red wine. Serve over ice in a large goblet – garnish with orange slice.
