Budget continues to be one of the most important discussions when it comes to planning a wedding, but if you’re asked to be in a wedding? Wedding consultant Kindra Browne is back with tips before you say yes. See her tips below and watch the video for other great ideas.

1. Cost for just the attire:
Bridesmaids dress, shoes and other accessories can = $400+
Groomsmen tux rental and possible wedding weekend activities can = $100+

2. Other concerns to consider when saying “Yes”:
Do you live in the same town as the wedding?
Are their multiple events for the wedding weekend and even prior to the wedding?

3. Saying yes out of emotion:
Explain that you want to be in the wedding but need to look into some costs before committing.
Get back to the bride and groom quickly
Communicate and be honest with the couple and yourself right off the bat

4. If you say no:
Offer to do something else that doesn’t require attire or attending many of the events
Handle the guest book
Load the gifts
Assemble DIY projects
Be a personal attendant
Host a shower or party WITH someone
