KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating after a 1-year-old child was found wandering the streets Thursday morning in Kansas City, Mo. Police said the child, wearing only a diaper, was found around 10:30 a.m. near E. 43rd Street and Sterling Ave.
Police located the child’s parents after going door to door. The child was not injured and had not been outside as long as police first thought.
The grandfather of the child said the toddler opened the storm door and walked outside. Neighbors quickly spotted the child and called police. The child was reunited with his or her father.
