37 second video reveals lies of beauty advertising

You know those magazines that catch your eye while you’re standing in line at the super market? The ones with beautiful people on the covers staring back at you with large, round eyes, pouty lips and tumbling twirls of hair?

Those magazines. With those people.

They can make you shrink back as you take note of your split ends and somewhat crooked nose. Who can standup to such god-like beauty?

Turns out, pretty much no one, as those beautiful people have been cut, stretched, shaved, highlighted and processed using a program called Photoshop.

We all know it happens — but have you ever seen the transformation take place? In a video posted to YouTube last year, you can see an average-looking woman turn into a Barbie-like creature. The 37 second video has gained traction again. See for yourself in the video below. And the next time you’re standing in line at the supermarket you can stand tall knowing those people you see magazines aren’t really people at all — they’re the creation of someone sitting at a computer.
