RAYTOWN, Mo. – Ann Harrison’s former classmates at Raytown South High School say March 22, 1989, is a day that’s changed them forever.

What they remember the most, however, is the loss of a kind-hearted, happy 15-year-old girl that they all loved.

Ann was known as a young woman who loved to play the flute, softball, and volleyball.  While she didn’t say much, she could always leave people smiling because she was so kind and funny in her quiet way.

Now they are left wondering what Ann would be like today, as her friends gather to plan the memorial of her death.

“There is not probably a day that goes by that I don’t think about Ann. Even if it’s just a passing, I wonder what she’d be doing today,” said her friend, Sonya Pearson.

“What would her kids have been like, what would she have done as a career?” Pearson continued.

Ann’s friends say they want people to focus on the loss of Ann and her memory more than her kidnappers and killers.

That’s part of the reason why they’re holding a memorial for Ann on March 22, 2014.  It’ll be at 3:00 p.m. at Cave Springs, a nature center at Gregory Boulevard and Blue Ridge Parkway in Raytown.
