INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A metro man was thrown from a minivan and killed in a multi-vehicle wreck on I-70 late Tuesday night.
According to Independence Police, the minivan and another car collided on westbound I-70 near I-470 around 10:55 p.m., causing both to spin. The minivan was then struck by another passenger car and then a tractor trailer.
The passenger in the minivan, identified only as a 57-year-old Blue Springs man, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
