BRAZIL — For one puppy, an 11-year-old boy has become its new best friend — his hero. That’s because Jean Fernandes risked his own life to save the dog after it was hit by a car in Itajai, Brazil.
The incident was witnessed by photographer Rafaela Martins. His pictures captured the brave boy’s heroic actions and were later posted to the Facebook page of Brazil’s News Agency of Animals Rights.
The dog reportedly is in the care of an animal control center and is doing well. It has been named Honey.
