KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A former employee of the Kansas City Chiefs is suing the organization claiming age discrimination.
Steven Cox filed suit claiming he was wrongfully terminated. Cox was a maintenance manager with the Chiefs for 12 years.
He claims he received good performance reviews and no complaints about his work. Yet, his lawyers argue the team fired him two years ago and replaced him with a younger man.
Cox’s lawyer are trying to establish that Pioli was a “micro-manager,” controlling every aspect of the stadium complex, including who could watch the team practice.
The trial is expected to last two weeks and is not the only age discrimination suit the Chiefs currently face.
FOX 4’s John Pepitone is on the story and will have more on FOX 4 News at 5 and 6.
