DALLAS — An 11-year-old girl is receiving merciless criticism in the social media world for the way she sang the national anthem at a professional soccer game in Dallas.

There are a few very famous, questionable performances of the national anthem. Roseanne Barr’s 1990 performance at a San Diego Padres game tops the list.
But does Harper Gruzins’ performance surpass it for “bad”?

The blog Deadspin is calling it “the worst national anthem rendition ever” and fans who were there or who have seen it on You Tube are brutally honest about how awful they think it was.

Her parents told Good Morning America that they wish they could “unplug” her from the electronic-social media world to spare her from the meanness.

Take heart, Harper! You have a lovely voice and many famous singers have some performances they felt they would never live down.
