SAN DIEGO – A Philadelphia couple has come forward as the man and woman featured in a viral photo captured by photographer, Dan McGeorge, back on January 31.

According to FOX 4’s sister station, FOX 5 in San Diego, McGeorge captured a beautiful wide shot photograph of the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego adorned by a pink hued sky and rainbow. When McGeorge looked closer at the photo he noticed that he had also happened to capture a proposal.

Since his discovery of the couple, the photographer had set up an online campaign to find out who they were. The stunning photo was shared by thousands via social media and reported on news outlets throughout the country.

On the Friday before Valentine’s Day, Robert Treml of Philadelphia received a phone call from his brother in St. Louis.

“He’s like, ‘I just saw a link online and there is a photographer in San Diego who actually captured your proposal at the exact moment and it’s under a rainbow, and he’s looking for you,” Treml told FOX 5.

Treml contacted his area news stations who then contacted McGeorge. After the three of them spoke over the phone, photographs were exchanged, and all three of them also realized they had actually already met the evening of the proposal. Shortly after Treml proposed, the couple looked for someone to take their photos as a newly engaged couple and had stumbled upon McGeorge.
