PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida woman is facing charges after a surveillance camera caught her kicking a sleeping 15-month-old girl.
Linda Klem, 49, who denies the accusations, is an employee at the day care where the girl attends. Klem has been charged with child abuse, after authorities say she was recorded kicking the baby in the head and backside while she was sleeping.
According to WFLA, who initially reported the incident, the little girl’s mother noticed an abrasion under the child’s eye and on the side of her face when she picked her up from daycare. She then reported the child’s injuries to police.
Authorities, who helped handle the case, said the video was heartbreaking to watch. They said the mother did the right thing by addressing the child’s injuries by reporting the incident to police and going to the hospital.
