The cast of Glee paid tribute to their late co-star Cory Monteith and his character Finn Hudson in an emotional episode called “The Quarterback” on Thursday night.
Show creator Ryan Murphy said it was not only a difficult script to write, but also a hard episode to watch.
“It was difficult to film, for not just the cast but crew who loved him too,” said Jane Lynch. “But it was very cathartic and beautifully written.”
Cory Monteith died from an overdose of heroin and alcohol. After the tribute episode, fans, with their eyes still streaming tears, rushed to download the featured songs on iTunes.
I had no idea that a tv show could bring out so strong emotions… God, I've cried so much that I've a headache… :'( #TheQuarterback #Glee
