KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The family of a couple killed on 49 Hwy on July 25 has hired a lawyer to look into the accident.
John E. Miller, 68, and Barbara A. Miller, 64, were on their way to the hospital the morning of July 25. Barbara was scheduled for knee surgery that day, but around 7:10 a.m. the unthinkable happened.
Police said the Millers were killed when their vehicle entered the highway and hit the right side of a tractor-trailer and spun underneath. The Miller’s vehicle came out from under the trailer after it struck a guard rail. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Family of the Millers said there are things that just don’t add up.
“The car that my parents were driving was the only set of skid marks, so they was the only ones braking,” said Damonte Rochester, son.
The family has now hired a lawyer to help them figure out if there’s more to the accident than what was mentioned in the police report. The family is also asking the public to come forward if they saw anything that day.
“That time of the morning people are going to work, people are going to and from, so this is ironic that no one has come forward to say anything,” Rochester said.
