WYANDOTTE COUNTY, Kan. — Habitat for Humanity is taking applicants in Wyandotte County. Organizers held a meeting where they took applications on Monday night.

People who qualify for assistance from the program had the opportunity to sign up there instead of going to the office. About 20 families signed up for a new home on Monday night.

Habitat officials try to schedule the meetings once a month and alternate between evenings and weekends so that people who are at work still have a chance to apply for a home.

The program says they’ve had a large number of applicants from Wyandotte County.
