Hundreds gathered for bridal show in Lenexa over the weekend

LENEXA, Kan. — Spring and summer weddings are just around the corner right, so now is the time to plan for many brides.

Hundreds came out to the Third Annual Lenexa Bridal Show inside the Thompson Barn in Lenexa on Sunday morning, where the sounds of a brass band filled the air.

Future brides looked for something old, something new, something borrowed and something camouflage?

“When it comes to the camo it’s a conversation starter if anything everyone’s like duck dynasty,” said Jennifer Woodson of the Tip Top Tux. “It definitely draws a lot of people the booth if not only to ask questions, just to stare (laughing).”

The latest wedding trends were on display inside the Thompson Barn, from tuxes and dresses to flowers and food.

“It’s just girls days only. I have my maid of honor and my wedding planner with me and we just had to get out of the house,” said Katelyn Taloney, a bride-to-be.

Bride-to-be Rachel Green came with her mom.

“It’s kind of special because we didn’t get to do it before so now we’re here working it around and seeing all the cool stuff here so it’s pretty neat,” said Green.

The City of Lenexa put the show on. It was smaller than most, but was a way to showcase community businesses.

“It’s more intimate and it’s going to be your local vendors in the community that’s the big thing, we’re the City of Lenexa so we’re trying to bring in those local vendors,” said  Mandy Danler, who works for the city.

When these brides walk down the aisle they’re sure to do it with style.
