MERRIAM, Kan. — On Tuesday IKEA announced that its new KC-area store will open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, September 10. Customers can begin lining up 48 hours in advance of the store’s opening on Monday.

“We are thrilled by the construction progress to date, and believe the remaining milestones and interior build-up will be complete by September,” store manager Rob Parsons stated in a news release.

The 359,000 square-foot store is located at 6000 Ikea Way, near the Johnson Drive exit off Interstate 35. In addition to completing construction, IKEA also says it’s now training a workforce of 300 employees. You can keep up with developments and grand opening plans by clicking on this link.
