HENRIETTA, Mo. — Authorities are on a search for an inmate who escaped from county jail on Saturday night.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jeremy Glenn Miller, who had been in jail since December for violating his probation, escaped through the ceiling of a jail cell at the Ray County Jail. Authorities say Miller pried open a metal plate and then got up into the attic above his cell. From there he was able to access a door that lead him to the garage from which he was able to escape.
Miller was originally in jail due to a felony property damage charge.
Authorities say Miller was wearing an orange jumpsuit and white t-shirt at the time of his escape. He stands 6’1” tall and weighs about 170 pounds. Police say Miller has family in both Grandview and Kansas City, so he may be headed in that direction.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Ray County Sheriff’s Department at (816) 776-2000 or the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
