KCMO Councilman Looking to Close Red-Light Cam Loophole

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Every year, thousands of drivers are caught on camera running red lights in Kansas City, Missouri – but one councilman says that because of a loophole in the law, many of those drivers will never face a ticket.

Kansas City, Missouri, 6th District councilman John Sharp says that a loophole lets drivers of company and corporate-owned vehicles off the hook when it comes to red-light camera tickets. Now he is pushing to change the ordinance, which he says is costing the city money and letting too many drivers get away with breaking the law.
