LENEXA, Kan. — A black male in his early 50’s reportedly stole several $20 bills after asking a JB’s One Stop convenience store clerk for cigars on Monday, May 19 at about 10 p.m. Police say this store is located at 13094 W. 95th Street.

Lenexa police say the suspect reached into an open cash register while the clerk’s back was turned and believe he may have committed a couple other thefts earlier in May.

Police want the public to help identify the man pictured and also to look out for a silver Mercury Sable with a temporary paper tag and only one operating headlight that he was seen in when he left the convenience store.

A news release describes a man fitting a similar description may be responsible for a similar theft in Shawnee on May 2 and is also suspected of stealing a wallet at Oak Park Mall on May 19 at approximately 11 p.m.
