KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities evacuated a plane at Kansas City International Airport late Thursday night after someone got mad and made a threat.

The 65 passengers on the plane were bussed to Terminal A, which was closed in January, where they waited in a darkened holding area until the FBI determined the extent of the threat.

The American Airlines Flight 4222 left Chicago O’Hare airport and landed in Kansas City at about 10:00 p.m. The threat was made sometime during the flight, by someone who had missed the flight. A statement this person made was perceived as threatening, so authorities took action.

The plane was not diverted, but once it landed and the passengers were evacuated, the FBI searched the plane’s luggage and then finding nothing, they gave the all-clear.

American Airlines Flight 4222 was the last scheduled flight to land at KCI Thursday night, and Kansas City was the flight’s final destination.
