HIGH POINT, N.C. – A maid of honor and her husband, who once appeared on the reality series, “My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding,” were arrested following a wedding Sunday for allegedly stealing from the bride.
According to FOX 4’s sister station My FOX 8 in North Carolina, Elvis and Eden Boswell, of West Virginia, were are each charged with one count of felony larceny, after they were accused of stealing the bride’s purse, wedding rings and $1,000 in honeymoon cash. A witness had recalled seeing Eden carrying the purse earlier in the day, but police said both Elvis and Eden Boswell denied stealing it.
The couple is accused of putting the stolen items inside of their truck, but then accidentally locked themselves out of it before they could leave. Police arrived and asked to search the truck. The couple gave them permission, and police were able to recover most of the stolen items. Inside the truck were the purse and both rings; however of the cash that was found, $300 was missing.
Police recovered an additional $100 bill, specially marked with the word “honeymoon” on it, inside Elvis’ pocket. A total of $6,100 worth of cash and property had been stolen. Police arrested the couple, which delayed the wedding ceremony; however it did take place later that day.
In court on Monday, the District Attorney confirmed that both suspects were part of a gypsy community and were previously on and had bragged about being on TLC’s TV show “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, Season 2.”
