WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. — A beyond disturbing story coming out of Minnesota, where a husband has admitted to shooting his wife, sawing her body into pieces and then hiding her remains in plastic bins, the Daily Mail reported Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Steven Johnson, 34, of St. Paul, shot his wife in the head in front of their 18-month-old son.

Johnson also apparently told police he did it because she threatened to leave him, the paper reported.

Police were tipped off to the gruesome discovery after he tried to hide the bins, full of his wife’s body parts, at an unsuspecting friends’ house and later admitted to the crime.

That friend then called authorities.

It’s unknown when the murder happened, but likely this weekend. His wife’s co-workers grew concerned when she didn’t show up to work for Monday, when the body was found.

But the story doesn’t end there. Read more from the Daily Mail.
