KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Royals fan Seth Olson, 38, was just a youngster in 1985 when he got a Royals shirt for Christmas following the World Series win.
Twenty-nine years later, the Royals are back and so is the shirt.
Olson recently discovered the shirt while cleaning out some old boxes and he’s wearing it for good luck, even though it doesn’t fit as well as it used to.
He’s worn it as a joke in a series of online photos, which have taken on an audience on facebook. One photo has received more than 10,000 likes and the online comments are funny, too.
“How do you get that thing on? Can you even get it off? Be careful. It’s just going to disappear and fall apart on you. Can you even breathe in that thing? You’re turning green. Your circulation isn’t working. That type of thing,” Olson said.
The shirt is a youth-sized Large, which was a good fit when he was nine-years-old.
We can’t fail to mention that Olson now stands 6’5″.
