Metro firefighters receive special emergency response training for plane crashes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City firefighters spent the morning at the Wheeler Downtown Airport practicing how to battle a fire after a plane crash.

And what was their training tool?  A specialized airplane owned by the University of Missouri-Columbia which they set on fire over and over again.  The plane also travels the country so firefighters from other states can practice this specialized kind of firefighting.
