LIBERTY, Mo. – An enthusiastic crowd of more than five hundred people greeted Mitt Romney at Tuesday’s rally at William Jewell College.
Before the rally started, FOX 4 reporter Abby Eden, sat down with Romney. Some of Romney’s opponents say he’s not a true conservative. Abby Eden asked him about that, and he took the opportunity to discuss his main opponent Rick Santorum.
“I have to tell you that I think he’s made some real errors in terms of his judgement, and if you’re looking for the fiscal conservative in this race it’s me,” Romney said.
Romney also said he believes a President can impact gas prices.
“If you want to get gasoline to be more moderately priced in this country and keep the dollars in the energy sector in the U.S., you have to do the opposite of what this President’s done,” Romney said.
As president, he says he’d promote developing domestic energy sources like drilling in the Gulf and getting natural gas out of North Dakota. In our interview with him and during his speech, Romney talked about his plan for the economy.
“I’ve been employed in the private sector like you have. I want to use that experience to get America working again,” he shouted, rallying the crowd.
