KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Jerry Whitehead is a “mother” to a lot of the residents at the Wyandotte Towers Apartments.
Whitehead cooks for the residents and takes them wherever they need to go according to Richelle Phillips.
Phillips was the one to nominate Whitehead. Phillips said that Whitehead does all of this for free, but currently needs help to fix her car.
“I couldn’t think of a better way to show you how much we appreciate all that you do for each of us,” Phillips said as she counted out $300 to give to Whitehead.
The two hugged each other and Whitehead shed a tear.
