PAOLA, Kan. — The Miami County Sheriff’s Office recovered on Friday evening the body of the man who drowned at Hillsdale Lake on July 4.
Authorities say Khai Pu, 29, of Kansas City Kan. disappeared at about 6 p.m.
He was last seen at the main beach on the west side of Hillsdale Lake. Crews began their search around 7:30 p.m. Thursday using sonar equipment and dive teams. They continued the search into Friday.
Hillsdale Lake is a reservoir located in Miami County, Kan., approximately 30 miles from Kansas City.
