KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The wallop of record snow has melted along a majority of major streets and now scores of potholes are popping up. In Kansas City, Mo., and Kansas City, Kan., crews have begun tackling all those holes that are already causing big headaches for a lot of drivers.
“I just wish they could come out and fill them, ” said Logan Truster, who’s had enough of driving his Toyota over the nagging holes.
City officials say the pothole problem is much worse this year largely because of last week’s heavy snow that blanketed the Metro area. In Missouri, crews have begun pouring an asphalt-mix into the hole. Crews in the show-me-state have to cover almost seven thousand lane miles of roadway.
Crews in KCK will be on the go repairing at least 1,900 lane miles of pothole repairs.
City officials’ best advice for drivers, try to be a little more patient.
“Those holes are so nasty on our cars. Not a good thing, ” says driver Ozell Baker.
“I’ll try to be more patient, and, hopefully my car will too,” says Lareina Whisterl laughingly.
