(CNN) — The producers of “Glee,” and Fox Broadcasting Company, will delay the start of production of the TV series until early August in the aftermath of star Cory Monteith’s drug-related death, officials said Friday.

Officials weren’t providing further details.

Monteith, 31, was found dead this month in his Vancouver, Canada, hotel room as a result of a heroin and alcohol overdose, authorities said.

On “Glee,” he played Finn Hudson, a star high school quarterback who became a leader of a glee club despite peer pressure.
