KANSAS CITY, Mo. — At 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning, members of the KCI Terminal Advisory Group were scheduled to meet at Union Station, and the public was invited to come out and meet the members.
The meeting’s agenda will primarily be administrative. The 24 members will be introduced. They will establish protocol and ground rules. They will determine how frequently, when and where they will meet.
The agenda also includes a “charge from the mayor.” Mayor Sly James is expected to pose the question: “Is KCI, as it is configured currently, the best airport for residents and visitors to Kansas City? If it is not, what are the options for an airport that will serve the region for future generations?”
Mayor James organized the group after there were concerns regarding a $1.2 billion proposal to change the airport from three terminals to one.
The public is invited to the first meeting in Union Station’s Stilwell Room, 30 West Pershing. It is scheduled to last one hour, starting at 8:00 a.m.
