KANSAS CITY, MO — Now that we are in the campaign season, many slap on bumper stickers to show support for their candidate. But, there’s a bumper sticker out there now attacking President Obama that even Republicans won’t put on their vehicle.
The bumper sticker says “Don’t Re-Nig in 2012,” and underneath it reads “Stop repeat offender. Don’t re-elect Obama!” This bumper sticker went viral Thursday. It is all over the internet and soon it could be seen on cars across the country. It’s political play on words takes the word renege and misspells it to the point, it’s unmistakably racist.
The creator’s identity is still unknown. No one took credit for the controversy and the only place to buy it on the Internet Stumpy’s Stickers website suddenly shutdown.
The website is known for selling items with racist overtones and similar bumper stickers aimed at the president’s race.
No matter which candidate or political party you affiliate yourself with, this political play on words creates controversy not conversation.
We tried reaching out to the owner of the site, but with the site in suspension we can’t pinpoint who is responsible.
