KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A group in Kansas City is rallying for more gun control.

“Organizing for Action” members gathered Friday evening at Mill Creek Park.

rallyThe group is using the 6 month anniversary of the Newtown, Conn., shootings to argue there needs to be more legislation aimed at reducing gun violence.

“It doesn’t make sense to me that people are dying in the numbers that they are in our country and that we’re not enacting sensible laws,” said Laura Curry Sloan, a supporter of tougher gun laws. “The senate didn’t pass the recent bill that they did when 90 percent of the american public is behind rational gun laws.”

Twenty-six people were killed in the Sandy Hook shooting in December.

“Organizing for Action” volunteers say they won’t stop fighting for laws aimed at preventing more, similar tragedies.
