NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Rapper Nelly was arrested on felony drug charges after his tour bus was pulled over in Tennessee on Saturday morning.

The 40-year-old St. Louis-native Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes, and another man, identified as 44-year-old Brian Jones—also of St. Louis—were arrested after a Tennessee state trooper pulled over their tour bus in Putnam County around 9:20 a.m. on Saturday.

According to authorities, the tour bus was pulled over for failure to display a U.S. Department of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association sticker on the vehicle. Authorities say that during an inspection of the vehicle, the trooper noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the bus. Inside, troopers found methamphetemine as well as a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Troopers also found 100 small Ziploc baggies, which they say are often associated with the sale of narcotics, as well as several handguns including a gold-plated 50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol, a 45-caliber Tarus pistol, and a 500 magnum Smith and Wesson.

Nelly was charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jones, who is a convicted felon, was charged for being in possession of a firearm. Four other people on the bus were not charged.

Both men were booked into the Putnam County Jail. There is no word on bond.
